A lonely man, Iwai, is staying in a halfway house after he was released from prison. Being elderly and an ex-convict, he is unable to find a job. He helped a homeless man, Sasaki, and became close to him. When Sasaki goes missing, he borrows a gun and starts to look for high school students.

Liping Yang
Liping Yang obtained a Bachelor of Film Studies degree from the Japan Institute of Moving Image and a Master's degree in Directing from the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts. Her short film Gone with the Wind received the Amazon Prime Video Take One Award at the 2023 Tokyo International Film Festival. In 2024, her feature film Ashes was nominated for the "Nippon Cinema Now" section at the 37th Tokyo International Film Festival.
